Sometimes, when I want to reset my thought, I visit Todaiji temple in Nara. There is a place where I can sit a bit in a huge space and I sit for about an hour. There is a big Buddha in front of me. There's a chance to have dialog with him, so I ask him something, but the Big Buddha usually keep silent. So, although the inside of my heart is not organized, I get a strange satisfaction feeling "Well, good?", then I return to home.

For me, this Todaiji has many memories. I went to paint in the neighborhood of Todaiji in the elementary school classroom, I went out with my parents and sister, every year to my Hatsumode with my friends, and now, at times, a little outing with my wife and children something. Todaiji is a symbol that symbolizes those memories. I do not know the meaning of Buddhism sufficiently. However, I think that it is an important space that gives me a sense of security at the unconscious level. Inside of a cool temple and The unique sound of the wooden temple blends old memories and new memories and brings me a feeling of relief.

This  example of Todaiji temple might be too personal. On the other hand, if many people experience a certain stuff or event, it will be common INSHIT (※ here, the meaning is common features) to many people. Fragrance of grandmother's house, furniture, toy played in childhood, music heard in adolescence. While considering these, I recall that Shiseido had announced the makeup history of Japanese women. Women's makeup has also changed with the times, but if so, the "mother's feel" will differ for each generation.

This is an American version. I wonder what sort of mother's feeling does the American people have.

When I researched design preferences abroad, I found something that the people in that country touched frequently from childhood. Naturally, for anyone in the country, there is a sense that they want to cherish. When I touch that feel while doing ethnography, I can feel deep warmth like having nostalgia shared by them.
